I have two matching Cannondale M400 bikes that my late wife and I bought new in 1994. (Still have the original receipt.) Bikes are completely stock with the original tires! One bike was ridden only one time and the other was ridden less than 10 times. The turquoise paint is between "almost perfect" and "perfect."

What are these bikes worth? Thanks, in advance, for your help

They aren't Deore or even STX level bikes, so I can't imagine there would be much interest in them.

I can't tell from the catalog photo whether they can take racks and do urban bike duty.

Maybe close to $100 if their nice shape sells them.


Should have bought road bikes, would have gotten more of your money back.

MTBs with lower end components. But they are Cannondales. In great shape, ready to ride, maybe $150. But everything needs to be shiny and spotless.

Thanks, Gents! Yeah... I purchased the bikes back in 1994 under the premise that the investment was primarily in the frame. Heard that there's a market for vintage Cannondales and will now be able to price the bikes accordingly. Much obliged

Interesting Thread - I just came into possession of an M400 built Sept of 93 and was a Model 94 Bike and it's ALL Original in Near Mint condition even the Tires still have most of the NEW Nubs on them. Interesting it has STX Derailers and Shimano Alivio quick fire trigger shifter's. Nice 24" frame for a big guy like me. Back then these frames were hand made in Bedford, PA, and this Bike was Sold at T-Town Bikes in Trexlertown, PA, And Since it's all Hard Tail and Fork from back in the day I'm only going to Road and Soft trail the bike. At my age its perfect for me. BTW I find this site to be very informative & helpful, on many aspects of Biking. Thanks

I was fortunate to get the Navajo Torquise - Only Paid $100 since it needed shifter work to get it going again. Almost had to completely replace one of the shifters but got lucky with a fix and was able to keep it All Original. Just ordered a Retro Water Bottle to match it's Front Badge Logo. Good To Go

My Dad has the Navajo Turquoise. Bought it new in 1994. Like yours, it has shifter issues.

NICE ! All ya gotta do is CLEAN it all up and Lube Everything to get it going again. it might take a bit of flushing out of the shifter cogs but they will clean up.
Don't try to take them apart. they are PINNED in the inside screw. learned that the hard way.

I am not that experienced in shifters, it just wont shift more than 2 gears, but the bike still runs great! just rode it yesterday. I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure everything is original except for the inner tubes.
