I know there were only 200 units. Most of them were sold to HK and Japan. I have two but I didn't bring them to the States.
If you can find one for less than $7,000, you should buy it without any hesitation.
One thing you have to know is the weight of Ti Birdy is same as the regular Birdy. That's really no weight advantage or anything else.

Thanks for clarifying that; sometimes the illusion of low availability misguides consumers into making rather poor judgments.

I really like what you've done with your bike; shiny titanium and high quality black components are a neat combination.

That's TRUE. Because, not everyone like you have the connection with Pacific Cycles. But it's okay. I know you just want to show off.

I had no connections at all with Pacific Cycles.

I just contacted Max Yeh from Pacific Cycles on facebook asking if there was still any possibility to buy a titanium Birdy and he answered me. I then bought the bike from him.

In fact you can consider sending them a message through their website's contact function. I used that twice and got Max replying my queries. Besides, my source told me Pacific did keep some new 2019 model to themselves. It worths a try. Good luck!.

With the high price of the titanium Birdy, its possible that they weren't sold as easily as expected or that shops who pre-ordered them couldn't sell them as expected.

I know there are several buyers who complained that the components mounted on the Ti Birdy aren't at the level expected for such a high price, that for instance the Ti Birdy doesn't have the Hubsmith wheels of the Birdy R11.

TBH, that's what we have all been complaining. The drive chain is only 105 class and the wheels aren't on premium level as you mentioned. We believe that it is because PC was expecting people to mod the new bike so they didn't bother to use premium components. The 105 is even from the old 5800 series.

Only the rear derailleur is from the old 105 series. The Birdy R11 has also the old 5800 105 rear derailleur.

I always wondered why. I was thinking that there might be an incompatibility of the rear frame with the new 105 (and all new Shimano rear derailleur compatible with the direct mount standard).

But I just saw that latest Birdy R20 11SP has the newest 105 derailleur.

This new R20 11SP uses wheels from Hubsmith that can be converted to XDR to use a cassette with a 10 or even 9 teeth smallest cog.

I don't think there is any compatibility issue with the new RD (shadow design) from Shimano. I personally use an R8000 RD.

Yes, it should indeed work. I do not see any difference in the rear derailleur hanger of the R20 11SPand the derailleur hanger of the previous 11SP with 18" wheels and the one of my titanium Birdy.

But why was Pacific Cycles using all components from the latest Shimano 105 groupset excepted the rear derailleur taken form a pre-shadow groupset ?

Don't know where you are located but FYI, having a TI Birdy gen3, I have seen the list of owners of the gen3 TI Birdy and most of the owners are located in Asia, very few in Europe and elsewhere.

So, if you aren't located in Asia, the chance to see one for sale is very low.

Titanium Birdy for Sale 2019

Hi All,
I purchased a 2019 Titanium Birdy from Pacific Cycles directly after flying to Tawain and seeing the bike in person.
I have ridden the bike 3 times and therefore am looking to sell it. I paid about $8,000USD after a new rack and adjustable stem and am looking to recoup that money.
It is in superb shape, since I only wrote it a few times.
I have found that I prefer to ride my $500 folding bike instead, because I worry about it less.
Feel free to contact me if you are interested.
Thanks,
Paul Neebe
