Enlarging holes in existing 531 fork

I am contemplating slightly enlarging the “breather” holes in a Carlton made 531 fork to allow for a dyno hub wire to route through. Will this substantially weaken the fork ? Can the hole be slightly angled at the lower end so the wire emerges at a better angle?

should be okay. Are you sure a single conductor wire won't fit? Most dyno systems are made to work with a grounded frame

One could argue that an angled hole will leave the hole edges rather sharp, and thus be a stress riser. But reality shows this is a non issue because most vent holes on production bikes are never deburred and likely have a burr on their inside ends anyway Andy
