Mercier team bike, legit or fake?
I'm curious about this lugless Mercier on ebay. Rider name etched in top tube. AFAIK Mercier last had a pro team in 1981. Is this legit or fake?

The subject frameset is a Mercier Formula 1. These were introduced in 1980 and developed for the pro team. They were also commercially available with a hi-tensile or Super Vitus tubeset. Based on the BB shell, this appears the high grade version and could be a legitimate team model. The frame size does appear to be appropriate for Mollet.

hmm- "SEATPOST custom to frame" Since it was meant for a specific racer, there's no way to adjust saddle height?
