Bike Florida Day 1
Some views from today. Eva the Vegan, I liked her jersey. She’s more than willing to share the virtues of a vegan diet but I didn’t have an extra hour.....
We rode a lot of the Suncoast Trail that runs alongside the Suncoast Highway from Brooksville to Tampa. The trail was built to appease environmentalists when the highway was built.
The route was only 21 miles today so I added 50 miles on the trail to make it 67 miles. There weren’t many hills but some headwind for over half the ride.
Lots of Spanish Moss hanging around...

Eva the Vegan. She is certainly committed to the Vegan way.
Nicely paved trail!
Headed South towards Tampa.
Pretty close to oncoming traffic but well protected.
My bike taking a break.
Spanish Moss everywhere. If it only tasted like cotton candy!!!
hip survived sleeping in my tent and on a new sleeping pad that I used for the first time. We’ll see how it does on back to back days of riding tomorrow.
