pushed schrader valve into wheel - does this damage tube?
i was pumping my tire and the pump got stuck to the valve. while struggling to get the pump off of the valve, i pushed the valve into the wheel several times. then i pumped the tire and it rode just fine. this was for my front tire. do i need to worry about any possible damage to the tube? i don't want any surprises when i'm going down a hill at 20 mph and the front tube suddenly explodes. it's a hybrid bike with 700 x 35c tires (60-80 psi). thanks!

I guess it's holding air so all's well that ends well. Pushing the valve in at low pressure is fairly easy but harmless to the tube. As the pressure rises the disk of tube damage does too, but it also gets far more difficult, so the system sort of takes care of itself.
In any case if you didn't rip the tube in the process you wouldn't have caused hidden or latent damage.
