Addiction 2021.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Drivetrain update:

Shifting is perfect up and down.

BUT, there is a little skip in back when starting off from a stop and I stomp on the crank. I am not sure of cause but guessing large cogs on cassette are worn. They are not visibly worn but easy enough to put another newer cassette on and see if that solves it.

Any chance you're backpedaling as you come to a stop?

You realize that their range extends into New Mexico and Arizona, right?

Possible but I don’t think so. Backpedaling is smooth on cassette/RD.

We only put the cars in the garage before a major snowstorm. So maybe two or three times a year.

I can't remember the last time my one active bike looked as clean as any of those.

The snow, though. I guess it might also remind the viewer of Lapland.

Except for the absence of any on the ground, yeah.

Really like the Kicker Core. Much more accurate measurements. Smoother. Quieter. So quiet I can hear the groaning creaking of my right side pedal. Also increased the difficulty to 100% for realizm.

A balmy 35°F today so I got out for some real miles.

Very grateful to have a bike with full coverage fenders - we got a bit more snow last night and with the warm temperatures the roads were a sloppy mess!
