Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Chatting with strangers is ok but best chats I have are with my friends, we know each others’ shtick and it adds to the fun. Try it sometime.

BYW I run Discord or Zoom on my iPhone while running Zwift on my MacBook, works fine.

Me neither. IRL I ride alone, so that's how I ride in Zwift, mostly. My laptop is on a table beside the bike, outside of sweat dripping range, and I run a TV off the laptop using an HDMI cable, so I'm not looking at the laptop and it's out of typing range anyway.

This evening's activity was a walk. It didn't count, but I mixed in some quasi-slow jogging and set a course record. 37:15

My laptop is a work computer and heavily secured, monitored, and regulated, so I try not to put too much junk on it. The phone is a govt device too, but, hey...

Yes I also have a medium size TV/Monitor in front of me to watch the game, the MacBook is off to the side.

Zwift plus chat is not for everyone but I really like the social aspect. It makes the time go by quickly.

The one thing that's frustrating about putting together your own router table is that some retailers/manufacturers have non-standard mounting plates/openings, and then the fences attach in different methods, too, so you can't just pick the best BFTB of each and slap them together. There are packages out there, but usually they're either *very* expensive or they have some kind of compromise that I wouldn't want to make. Things like reducing rings can be a hidden cost, too - I was going to go with a package from Rockler, but when I was pricing it out, I realized that it only came with one ring and the others that I would need would add something like another 60 bucks. Dumb.

Sounds reasonable, keep on pushing.

I’m sure at some point I’ll say “enough of this” and press the order button on the CNC machine. No more “take this, and slap it to that, yeah it might work if only it was for the thingamajig that connected to both, etc etc”

oh well, I guess there’s retirement.

Over what distance?

Careful, you don't turn into a runner.

More fake miles planned for today. Time to think about wintering in a warmer climate.
