I love the pearl white. It's just about the same color as my Olmo, but in much better shape. Hopefully with vertical drops it won't get Drewed-up by a new owner wielding a pair of vice grips and a can of chartreuse paint...

Vert drops? ENO hub to the rescue! That is a great pearl.. and white is so in.

I'm not seeing the "paramount" script, but it's still a great looking bike. Is that that one that was on the Naples Florida craigslist a few weeks ago? I was really tempted to go grab it, but cooler heads prevailed.

Its a duo-sport, graphics make me think late eighties. The paramount design thing is on a itsy bitsy sticker..
Edit: Was thinking I'd ditch the 18 speed setup for a fixed 1, swap the wolbers for deep V's, paint over the pearl with chartreuse.

CL find, supposedly built by Francisco Cuevas, can anyone tell? It's been raced and hence ridden hard but appears to be in pretty good shape. Very light and way too small for me but I couldn't pass it up. Zeus hubs, pedals and seat binder bolt, Cinelli bar and stem, low end Modolo brakes and Campy for the rest. You can't really see it in these photos but the dropouts have this nice open tubing treatment. The tubes are plugged but not completely filled and still concave, if that makes any sense.

Two things to look for-
My fork has Cuevas pantographed into the crown, and the bottom bracket shell is an English threaded cast Cinelli one.

Just scored a pretty clean late 77, probably 78 black Schwinn SS. Tange Champion 2 and Suntour ARX. It has those wonderful longish curved DT friction shifters, ala "aero?"... They look sharp is all I know. It's near the bottom of my size range at 58, but a fistful of post brought the leg extension into an acceptable range. I need maybe 10-15mm more extension in the stem, but otherwise fits pretty well considering. Most likely Panasonic built, with the head lug serial. Headbadge has the model name, and chrome faced forged drops. Rims are Araya 700's. Not quite as fancy as my 85 is frame wise, but I like it. I already had a set of tires, and cleanup will be an easy one. Pic tomorrow if the weather holds, it supposed to pour though. If it rides anything like the Voyageur and SLT, It will be a keeper.,,,,BD

Picked up two bikes today. First is a Univega Activa Action with cromoly main frame and simple SIS drive train. Bike is destined for one of my neighbors, so I had it sold before I even bought it. It came with the lock and front basket.
The other is a 24" wheeled 3 speed cruiser -- Jamis Taxi Sport.

I'm fairly certain that Univega Nuovotech you're all ogling is a bonded aluminum frame (3 main tubes aluminum alloy, the rest cromoly steel). Still feeling all weak in the knees? 
Personally, I still think it's nice. I just wonder how many steel snobs would be fooled by it. Not that I'm suggesting anyone here is a snob!

I still think it's nice too. Aluminum doesn't have the instantaneous pull on me that steel does, but a well made aluminum bike can feel really nice in its own way. I was enjoying my R600 while I had it, more than I expected when I picked it up.
Actually, now I'm kinda curious what a frame with that kind of combination would feel like. Was it a passing fad?

I'm really not sure. Someone like T-Mar would know. It's possible it might have been less expensive to construct than a full aluminum frame, with the main tubes serving as a marketing ploy - it's lighter! Or maybe all aluminum construction was suspect at the time, so bonding to steel lugs and stays was considered more durable.

Pulled this ugly GT road 6061 frame outta the dumpster today, anyone who thinks aluminum might be lighter than steel should pick up this boat anchor! Ugh at least its my size.. however I think this triple triangle design is so grotesque I cant see myself building it up!
