Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Are those wheels photoshopped in? They look a bit egg shaped.

Hot! Would look even better with some deeper (or carbon) wheels though. Very impressive weight for a bike equipped with Rival.

Thanks, I agree on the deep cargo wheels, but I am moving to Aviano Italy in the spring, and I wanted a light set of climbing wheels!

As far as the wight, I don't have a scale, I used a bathroom scale. weighed myself 3 times, then myself holding the bike 3 times. 15.6 was the difference...

Well, I've never posted this bike in here knowing how it would probably fare. But now I think my ego is strong enough, plus I just put these exceedingly hot wheels on (they ride nicely too). I also figure that most of you are fairly liquored up on Egg Nog!

Pics are from just after today's short ride, the joys of the job skiing/boarding in the morning and ride in the afternoon.

Its recommended to have a white or solid color background to help show all the details of the bike. Garage doors just happen to be a general option that works best

This is one Trek that's Exceedingly Good, although...maybe...a zero setback post might improve the look.

How are them there Rails treating you, especially going down them steep hills?

Thanks! I think you're right considering how far back I have the saddle I'll see if they have a zero setback mast.

they rode really nicely today, about as comfortable as the tubeless bontrager's but without the slop of the rim rubbing a little on hard climbs that the alloy rims have (I've checked QR, hub play, must be flex in rim). I think I'll set them up tubeless once these tires are kaput.

they seem to spin up and hold speed a tad faster than the RFSC 38's but I didn't set any records today. On my favorite descent today I hit 45mph, my record on a warm summer day was 49 on this hill so I hope to be able to crack it soon. They make a very cool sound when pedaling

Overall pretty darned happy, hoping to ride them again tomorrow. Also not a squeal at all whereas the RFSC's always had a bit no matter how I adjusted.

Maybe for looks only will a zero setback post help the Trek but he has the saddle very far back on the rails as it is. Zero setback is only going to change the fit.

I don't even know why I'm posting here.

I've played with the fit a fair bit since my Bike fit session. I think as I've ridden more and started to work on core (which I've never done), that I'm due for another. I seem to be scootching back more often and trying to rotate hips more. I also added a cm to stem length a few months back. Plus I intend to race a bit this year. We'll see

If that is how he positions his saddle, there is no way he could do a zero set back. its pushed all the way back as it is. Zero set back would be needed if he had it placed all the way forward.

You're doing it wrong. When you are more flexible and have stronger core, you may play around with the stem length and angle and also the stack. Not your saddle fore/aft, which is governed by your leg length, natural feet position, etc. My 2 cents.
