Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The Wilier Cento looks sweet....the one thing I think that would make it stand out is red tires to break up the contrast of the aero rims.

Im a covid newbie, been riding since April. This is my second bike build, first was a steel dave scott centurion with sram red components, fun though heavy and too flexy.
The supersix came as a frame and fork only, if some of you work on cannondales, youll know how frustrating sourcing their proprietary parts are. Anyways, I went full ultegra r8070 di2 with exception of the cranks, got it for the stiffness but equally for the spider web rings. Wheels are reynolds black label aero 65, lots of rides along mountains and beaches and crosswind isnt very noticable. Lastly, campy rotors since shimanos are hideous. So IMHO, she is a beauty and a beast on the streets.

The Kestral and the Merckx are beautiful bikes. But I'm just not into TT bikes although I'm sure it's a good one.
They all look like they receive meticulous care, as good bikes should. 😍

Thanks. I almost didn’t buy the frameset because all State had in stock were 53cm and 58cm. But after looking at the geometry, their 58cm fits more like a 56-57 which is my ideal fit. The TT is only 55.9, with a HT of 180. So I’m just waiting for the shallow FSA headset dust cover and I’m done with the fit.

I wasn’t expecting much, especially since it’s an aluminum frame that costs much less than much higher priced competitors. All I want in a road bike is a great handling, responsive, smooth riding frameset and surprisingly, this checks off every box. Even at its current weight, around 18+ lbs, with Centaur 11 and the heavy Calima wheelset, it feels and rides lighter than it weighs.

My latest project. 2015 Giant TCR SLR, paint stripped and clear coated. With SRAM Force mechanical 11 speed, Rotor 3D crank with 53/39 Q-rings, 50 mm Superteam wheels, 11-28 SRAM cassette, Giant Contact 100 mm stem, FSA compact bar, Arundel Sport cages, PDW donut-themed bar tape (for a bit of color and whimsy), Conti Ultrasport tires, KMC X11SL chain. 16 pounds 5 ounces as it sits. Very stiff and responsive, just a bit twitchy steering, rides smoothly on most surfaces but vibrates a wee on chip seal. Of all my bikes, this one has that “wants to go fast” feel and coaxes more speed from me on descents and high speed turns than is prudent. It is a very fun machine to ride.

Technically it's a gravel bike, but it has no problems pulling double duty with a second wheelset. 2021 Giant Revolt Advanced 2 in Rosewood.
(steerer is getting trimmed this week lol)

2019 Fuji SL 1.1
Light Bicycle Falcon 45mm clinchers
I need to weigh it, but modest guess is 15 lbs.
It's weird to feel almost retro on a brand new build with non-direct mount rim brakes, no dropped seatstays, round seatpost, no electronic groupset, & alloy stem/bars.

This is replacing my crash-broken Ribble R872
