Addiction LXXVII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'd rather just go to court than do all this email and phone talking.

People are still getting arrested, although I bet that starts to decline. DV and family cases and substance abuse will go up.

And, Ive read that other states are on lockdown as well. AMLO has not got the support of the state governors. Maybe it will confine itself to central Mexico. We shall see.

Yeah, it’s strange coming from the Left. As here, looks like the states are going to have to manage without a strong federal response.

With no wine available anywhere near, I have been reduced to drinking beer.

Sad.
I saw that public health “experts” are concerned that people with alcohol dependence could go into withdrawal due to closure of state stores, and are pushing the governor to declare access to wine and liquor “essential” like in the other 49 states.

So there is hope you can get your wine soon.

I have this one patient who insists he does not drink alcohol yet drinks 2 bottles of wine daily. I have another who says he does not drink alcohol yet has a 6 pack daily.

At the old Boston City, any patient who got less than half their total caloric intake from booze was a moderate drinker, but everyone we admitted got thiamine, niacin, B12 (alky vites) and mag in the bag.
