Anybody know what the weight range for the stoker seat is on this thing? Boss got it from a "we're clearing out an old barn and these bikes will go to the dump if you don't take them" incident, and he wants to keep it in the local community. I see unicycles on occasion, a couple of fixies at the college, but I haven't seen any locals on tandems, so it would get some attention.

Thinking about taking it (solo - and yes, I've banded the stoker's toeclips to the crankarms so they won't drag) around the park and college tomorrow with my DiscountRamps single wheel trailer just to get it some attention and see if that drums up any interest at the shop. Maybe even see if I can drum up a potential stoker so I can get his "keep it local" price on it.

I believe the weight rating can be found on the underside of the beam.

Oddly, it never occurred to me to look there. Just assumed that, like frame sizes and BB spindle lengths, most manufacturers would want to keep it a carefully guarded secret. 180 all terrain or 200 road only max. Seems optimistic, though, as my 195lbs on that seat would be floating way too much to pedal, even on normal road undulations. Was sort of hoping it would have an ideal weight listed.

Apparently, riding around solo on a tandem with a trailer and a Bluetooth speaker blasting "All By Myself" is a reasonably effective way to meet women, though. They can't help noticing a 12' long rig...except for the ones with their heads completely buried in their phones, who I'm not terribly interested in anyway.

Good luck with your trolling for women.
Skip hauling he kiddie trailer unless you have a cute dog in it!) and blasting tunes . . . a turn off for many; but then again you live in TX . . . who knows!
