Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I woke up this morning before dawn to go ride, walked out into the garage (the dogs sleep out there- it’s warm) to take the dogs out. One of them had explosive diarrhea all over the place. Had to empty everything out and spray down the floor, no AM ride, hopefully I can get out after work.

Not buying this, without knowing the assumptions and context. When they make that field goal, then even if MN allows a TD and 2 pt conversion, then there is a 50/50 chance they win in overtime (assuming no tie).

There's a bit at the end where Hank and Conor mention they were pushing 400, even 500 watts, but Si was only doing 360 average. I think that removes the rider variable from the equation. Same route, shorter time with lower power = faster.

Now, they probably could have paired up the two riders better, since Conor is SO big that Hank doesn't really shield him from the wind that much.

That's another thing. If they all practiced for a few weeks the duo would gain more speed than the TT would. And the margin wasn't very big.

Not sure that's true, given Si said he hadn't done a time trial in 9 years, but in the end, I think the wattage difference is the whole game.

Many of those general information pages often talk about stress causing inflammation (way more than my witch doctors do ).

Could I eliminate some stress? Sure. Would it improve my joint situation? I'm skeptical.

Nothing to show other than the common sense of if they practiced switching and were more scientific about what length of pulls to take, they'd go faster.
