Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ah. Well, like I said, I'm not a doctor, and especially I'm not YOUR doctor, so I can't comment.

You're not supposed to be a doctor, you're supposed to explain how the drugs that you worked on work (or why they don't).

People can't explain why the drugs I take work, or why they work for some people with my issues and not others.

And as we can all attest, "work" in my case is as relative as yours.

I've been through Bell Buckle many times. It's a quaint little town. It has a private academy and a decent cafe.

If it's not icy, I'll go out, but I'd like to have the option to stretch that with studs this year. I may still be limited to mostly paths, though, as the streets can get very narrow and jostling with cars on narrow, sometimes icy roads doesn't seem like fun. I could probably still string together a non-looping metric with the paths in the metro, though, which would be more than enough.

This pic is of the back door of a local restaurant. When you order pumpkin pie, it’s REAL pumpkin pie from the field next door.

The wife and I both need to renew our drivers license and we've been putting off the dreaded trip to the DMV. We decided to finally just get it done, so the wife looked up the appropriate forms last night to fill them out in advance. In her poking around for the forms, she found that the Gov had signed a new law over the summer, allowing DL renewals online.

Really there just a self-reflective technique. Shuffle the deck, then pull three cards. Depending on what cards are drawn and their orientation (normal or inverted) they have different meanings. You can then take those ideas and see how they apply to your life.

That's what I've understood their use to be.

Besides, you know, divining the future. But everyone knows that

Here the main thing for me is how narrow the roads get. Once snow is cleared I don’t mind the conditions, but a lot of the back roads I ride end up being 1.5 cars wide.

Oh, sure, but I wouldn’t actually do that, so they’d sit there being clutter for the next decade.

How aggressive are you looking to get with the studs? Going full blown ride on a sheet of ice or moderately studded to keep things somewhat under control but don't kill your RR as much?

I've always thought about studs, but the only place you really need them here is on the path which basically turns to a rutted sheet of ice that is no fun to even try walking on.

Some drugs got repurposed from other uses and happen to work. But the ones I mention above were designed specifically for this, so someone should know what is going on.

My drugs were designed for anti-anxiety and anti-depression, but we still don’t know why they work for some
and not others, or stop working sometimes.

Yeah, pretty much the same except 2.5 cars wide on the busier streets that need to be 3+ (and all of the entitlement that comes with being a car driver on a secondary road).

The latter. Seems that many have studs primarily on the shoulders and that you can, to a certain extent, play with pressure to tweak stud contact. The paths in the area will get cleared pretty well, but there are always problem spots, sometimes it's a missed spot, others it's a low spot with poor drainage or maybe a shaded spot that encourages refreeze of runoff, etc. The only spills that I've taken as an adult have been in these kinds of situations.
