Maybe Mark Beaumont or James Hayden? Beaumont has a bunch of crazy distance records (around the world in 78 days) and Hayden won the 2017 and 2018 Transcontinental Races (finishing 4th in 2016.)

Do Brits still ride Land's End to John O'Groats? That seems a massive challenge, considering the varied terrain of the British Isles.

Of course, North America is not without terrain ...

pretty sure people do it all the time. It's not uncommon for tourists to do it, I know someone that did it as a tour

I swear I just saw mention of a record attempt, but I don't recall where

The record is currently held by Andy Wilkinson, who did it in 41 hours, 4 minutes and 22 seconds on a Windcheetah. This was in 2001.

The upright bike record was beat this past summer. I think its still current, but I am not sure. I think there was another cyclist attempting it too this year.

Broadwith did it averaging over 19mph, pretty impressive.

I follow ultracycling (WUCA) on facebook, and LEJOG has been on there a few times this year. A woman also tried to break the record, but got sick and abandoned.
