wingless' VDO M3wr Wired Computer
The full-features and inexpensive SunDING SD-548C Wireless Computer stopped working properly once I installed my Stupidbright SB3000 Headlight due to the RFI from the headlamp.
My replacement computer was this VDO M3wr Wired Computer. This is also a full featured computer that has advantages applicable to my usage over the SunDING computer.
This has a wired connection to the speed sensor instead of wireless, for RFI immunity and proper functionality while using an extreme power headlight. There is also only one battery instead of two when using a wired computer.
The character size and display size is larger on the VDO computer, that is helpful for me because I don't wear reading glasses while riding and cannot discern the smaller characters w/o glasses.
For my usage the other features are a wash between these computers.
Here are the functions provided by the VDO M3wr computer:
Included in the box:
This product was purchased by me using cash from my pocket. I have zero affiliation and zero agreement w/ the manufacturer or w/ the vendor.
This is a nice computer that I would not hesitate to recommend.

Thank you for the review. Where did you buy the VDO?
I've had perfect service from SunDing wired computers. I get them for $3 on ebay, which is pretty amazing.

All of the current VDO M Series Computers and prior models are available on Amazon and on eBay.
The M3 was the correct model for my application.
Yes, the SunDING is a very nice computer. The price and features are an excellent value / combination.

It is good to hear that you found an inexpensive computer satisfactory. I went through of bunch of them and they reside in a storage box. My conclusion was that I wasted time and money - I went then back to brand names, though some of those were lacking too in some ways. The flaws of the cheap ones: clocks that drift by a minute per day (watch is for me the most often used function), all settings forgotten when batteries changed, highly confusing menus taking one over functions that are never utilized, bleak displays, not readable in the sun, that completely fade out in the cold, weak magnet-sensor combinations that require setting the distance between the 2 down to 1mm, thermometer functions that still show the temperature for garage half an hour after leaving the garage and while in the garage reading off by 4C, computer choking in the rain, etc. The conclusion was that I will check such computers again in 5+ years.
