Sora 3x8 Brifters-fully functional, cosmetically rough-cheap
I bought these here to try out brifters and decided I prefer barend shifters better. They work fine but they have seen better days visually. They did not have hoods when I bought them and I added some incorrect hoods just for the padding. If you want to try out brifters, these could be yours for the low price of $30 shipped in the US. Paypal friends and family.

For what it is worth, I have a Sora triple crank that would be compatible, in case anyone snaps up those shifters and needs a crank. Come to think of it, I have the matching front derailleur, also...

These brifters have been around. I got them off a bike carcass that @Velognome gave me. I passed them onto @beicster. They work fine. I passed them on because I went from 8-speed to 10-speed.
The crank and FD Randy shows will work fine, too. There is so much hype around the high end stuff. This low end stuff works great. It's just a little heavier and uglier. Every year, the lower stuff gets the benefit of last year's high end stuff's design, in a cascading way.
