meh, Italian fail. I should know better. Plus I'm not even in the Northeast.

Bummer, I wont be at ToWC or CCTT#1, i'll be in Duck NC hanging on the beach. I leave the day after ToWC RR so I might do that depends on the logistics.

Thinking about crossing the border to do the Capital Region RR and then quite possibly returning for Catskills. Have to find some accommodations for Catskills though, ex-wife was good at sniffing that out. Guess it's time for me to do the leg work. Been having a pretty good season and seem to have half decent climbing legs this year. Not many climbing races in Ontario, so I have to head to the US for that.

nope.

I'm surprised it's occurring given the road alterations. a 5pm p123 on father's day is pretty far outside my interest anyway.

the narrowing of turn 1 is enough of a concern to me that I took it off my to do list straight away. most folks are surprised it's happening. that said, it might be fine. let me know.

This. No Masters race. The pro race has a history of huge primes. The crowd prime last year was $4100.00. There were multiple $1000.00 primes.

befuddling that there isn't a masters race, but 3s can race 3 different events.

in ways it's true. ive considered downgrading to have more race start time options, and most races locally are P123 so I could do the "elite" race anyway if so desired.

It would require slight of hand for me to get back down to a 3.

Problem in NY this year is the CRCA board seems to be heavy on young 3s who don't respect the reality of east coast masters racing.

Their "director of open racing" is, in fact, a new 3. If I see him at Harlem I'll check him into the curb* and then have a conversation about how masters racing improves rider safety.

* Note: this is not an internet threat. This is a joke.

Haha. Love it.

Masters downgrading to Cat3 is a way of life around here, one that I have refused to partake in thus far.

Google maps scouting... looks like the whole front stretch is narrowed by a full lane or more, as well as pinching even narrower for turns 1 & 2 (and probably 3 & 4, but the map imagery for those turns is from one month before the changes).

I'm going to go with, it's good for me because it makes the course more technical. In any case it should be interesting!

Looking backwards at turn 1, after and before:
