The young opossums, like with so many babies, are quite cute IMO.

Yeah, the jury is out about Lyme's disease around here… officially it doesn't exist although there are a handful of very isolated cases. 90% of the time when I encounter a possum, they _are_ being cornered:
* in a chicken coop
* under the back deck (and yours truly being fed up of the nightly running of the Marsupial Olympics outside his bedroom window)

Wait, I'm confused. Aren't most mammals native to Oz marsupials (except the platypus which is from somebody's mescaline dream)? But I didn't know Oz had the plain old opossum. Hear that no motor? ? You can immigrate to Australia!

Aus doesn't have opossums, they have possums... and they make shoes out of them!

For the past couple weeks I've been passing a corpse in the bike lane, might be a possum. But the tail has pretty much turned into leather now. Looks like it would be pretty supple for shoes

Me too!

And while Australian possums are NOT opossums, they apparently suffer the same fate at a similar rate.

For SIX friggin' weeks now, there has been a huge dead raccoon right next to the US36 Bikeway at the South edge of Louisville CO.
I really hope the city picks up the carcass before it starts getting really smelly this spring.

Those cheeseheads are always up to something. I'm surprised she did use beer instead of windshield washer fluid.

looks like a delivery person setup; you can drop mail or packages right into a mailbox without having to get out of the car with such an arrangement.

It's for countries where you drive on the left. Some places without money to spend. It's common in some countries.

I was showing this pic to my wife and that was her thought as well. Seems like an odd choice. It is a 2016 Ford Transit Connect. I would think an older 2000's van/SUV would be a cheaper candidate.

Rural letter carriers pay for their own gas from a fixed vehicle maintenance allowance so perhaps gas mileage is a factor. Reliability is also a major concern. My wife retired with 500,000 + miles on her second Subaru Legacy, a 97.factory right hand steering model that I spent many an hour maintaining and repairing.
