1. Auction has a reserve. No thanks.

2. I much prefer the early 1980s Stumpjumpers. So I would pass regardless.

3. Bidding early just reveals your interest to the competition (other bidders), so I never bid early. It SHOULD have no impact what others bid, but I have seen it time and again influence people to increase their bids. Not logical, but auctions do not always default to logic.

Just two bidders, they both seem to want this bike!

You are right sir. I used to use bidnip, it will enter your max bid with seconds left on the auction. Never seemed to work right tho.

Nice Stumpy though. Look at what a fully orig Hutch BMX gets... 4-5k?

Stumpys will hit that, soon. Stock up now!

FYI I did make great predictions on Lamborghinins and Bitcoin.

That's a lot of money for a Stumpy. Don't get me wrong, I like them a lot but I've bought two of them for a lot, lot less in local sales.

Testerosas and muiras. Otherwise gold plated road bikes gifted to the pope make great long-term investments.

Weirdly I read this whole thread with an Australian accent. Must be a show I just watched but it makes it more enjoyable.

all right all right!

I read the entire thread without clicking the link..wondering which stumpy it was and winner winner chicken dinner it's the same ($100) one I've been getting ready for my 12 yr old daughter this spring. Maybe this auction will help her realize it's cooler than any new bike from Dicks.

I have one of those; unfortunately the fork got lost with a PO. A great rider, Prestige tubing. $400 seems pretty high though.

No, it didn't. Reserve wasn't met, so seller relisted it.

I chased a rider uphill last week who was riding a 93 Stumpy. I caught him, complemented his bike and the beautiful paint, and then he told me that he had it repainted by Joe Bell. Some Stumpjumpers are very valuable.

I was surprised to see the bidding end at 405 on this. I was even more surprised that the 405 dollar bid didn't meet the sellers reserve.

I think Stumpys might be getting a bit overpriced at this point. Like you can probably get a MB-1 for less at this point, not to mention how many imitators with the exact same specs (Tange prestige/Araya RM-20/Shimano XT M730 etc) there were.

I'm sorry, I stand corrected on two points.

1. The 3rensho factory is not near where Godzilla was filmed. It is near where Godzilla lives - to this day.

2. The final bid was 405+85 plus shipping and tax. The reserve was not met. The bike was not sold.

I agree, 500 delivered is too much!

One of the local used shops has an original S-Works Stumpy, not built stock, but in a modern weight-weenie setup. True grail bike.

I know some Allez are 3Ren, not the Stumpy.

Between me and you, I made the part up about Godzilla too. He was killed by Matthew Broderick not!
