FS: Mavic Parts! 630 SSC Crankset w/ BB and 420 Pro Brakes
Selling off a couple of cool Mavic parts. Not sure how to price these, as they don't seem to come up often, so please don't smite me if I am off base. I did my best to photo and describe everything accurately, but feel free to ask for more photos etc.
First up is a very nice 630(?) crankset. Never seen an example with this logo. 175mm arms and 52/42 rings. Very good condition overall, with a couple tiny nicks and just a tiny bit of logo wear on the DS, NDS is pretty much perfect besides one tiny heelrub nick. Includes the funky 'threadless" Mavic BB which could use new bearings or an overhaul (standard BB will work with it also) and campy crank bolts. $100-> $85 shipped CONUS
Second is a pair of Modolo-made Mavic Pro 420 brake calipers. For some reason, the front has 'Mavic' engraved, while the back is screen printed (wearing a bit...). I gave them a rudimentary cleaning and overall they're in good shape, with some typical signs of use/age. Anodizing is beautiful, some of the chrome bolts have a bit of removable surface rust if you want to get in there, and the right arm on the left brake has a little gouge from a pad install, but it's pretty minor. Front has original Modolo pads and holders, rear has campy holders with Scott Mathausser pads, both pretty firm. Complete with cable adjusters, recessed bolts etc. How's $65 -> $55 -> $45 -> $40 shipped CONUS sound?

What's the pedal threading on the cranks? 14mm or 9/16?

Dang!, those cranks are fantastic! Too bad they're a bit too long for me or I would have snapped them up!

Nice, SSC crank and SSC BB. This is a deal and collector stuff. If you want to sell asap put on Facebook Steel Is Real and it will be gone at initial price like that.
I have this complete set, too many bikes and other projects with groups or would be all over this.

Unfortunately I never really warmed up to the looks of that crankset....yet....
Much prefer the more classic looking model 630 with the more traditional spider, which I already have on my Vitus Plus Carbone 7. Maybe one day I might build up a later Model Carbone or the version of the 979 with the aero shaped "lozenge" frame tubes (very hard to find!) with a starfish crankset. But not anytime soon cause I have to finish two projects first....

the brakes have seen better days(but I do need a professional spring-can't tell for sure, one is right, can't see the other one). let me know if the cranks and BB become available. $140 for everything is reasonable, but $55 for just the brakes is high, the brakes for me would be for the parts, all the parts,to complete other modolos. The BB is(was) 114mm?
