Something different for the vintage Japanese fan. Won't comment on the price but point deduction for the side stand. Otherwise, an interesting super clean machine.

Absolutely incredible condition. 56cm seat tube center-to-center. Guarantee you will not find a vintage road bike in this condition. One owner bike. Barely touched, let alone ridden. Excellent blue paint. Fully chromed frame underneath the paint. Exposed chrome stays, forks, lugs, and seatstay caps. This was built in the early 1970's by Nishiki, for the American market.
100% original. 1st Generation Dura-Ace throughout, including low flange front and rear hubs, Shimano Crane GS (long drilled out cage, ~1971, this was the original Dura Ace component) rear derailleur, D-A brake levers, sidepull brake calipers, 170mm double crankset (with built in chainguard). The front derailleur is Shimano Titlist. The shifters are Shimano Fingertip stem shifters. I can include a set of Shimano or Suntour bar-end shifters.

I've seen a lot of fork crown lugs in my day, and I even seen that particular style, but I don't recall ever seeing one with a space between the lug and the actual fork like that one has, all the ones I seen fit tight and brazed to perfection.

Kind of looks like there is lug material under the chrome but the chrome overlays it and hangs a bit long like a curtain.
Cool bike nonetheless and appears to have close to zero miles. I have never heard of the brand so I have no opinion on value.

Edit: the more I think about this the more I think the fork blades were replaced using a Imperial oval shaped blade going into a Continental oval shaped lug. It's possible the factory did that by mistake or ran out of Continental shaped blades which I doubt, but not impossible.

I'm still really digging the bike...and I think I'd drop 450 under different circumstances. There's just something about it that I like - the geoemtry and paint are part of it. Looks like a great early sports tourer.

And I think too that the style of them doing this would be very unique, even the lugs that I see in the pics have a unique quality to it. I don't know about this bike, in the condition it's in...it's rare...I would go out on a limb and buy it if it were near me. Just have to find the period correct Dura Ace rear derailleur that came from the factory with.

I've seen them like that when it's not actually the crown overhanging, but a chrome overlay that fits on the crown. Schwinn did that on the Suburban iirc. Maybe this is same. Hope so.

Ok, I just found another Sutton, apparently from the pics Sutton made their fork crowns like that, not sure why but they did; see: https://www.flickr.com/photos/myklem...7627011241068/ The pic of the crown and fork is a bit crusty but you can see the gap if you look closely. I can't recall ever seeing a crown and fork made like that, or perhaps never noticed.
