October 2019 100 Miles/Km Thread - Is Autumn in the Air?

Autumn is definitely not yet in the air here in North Texas. It’s still pretty much summer here.

I’m setting a goal of 900 miles this month. I’ve missed my last two goals, so we’ll see. What say you all? Let’s have your monthly goals if so inclined. If not, let’s have a weather salad...lettuce know what the weather is like in your area.

Autumn is supposed to hit Philly this weekend. As for now, forecast high of 92 tomorrow. Hoping to do my favorite local-ish three day tour starting Thursday. Long range forecast for that part of the world looks decent. Highs in the mid-60s. Lows in the mid 40s. Good camping weather. Just ordered some new long Johns.

It hit 94 here today. It’s almost dark and has just now dropped below 90. This afternoon my wife mentioned something about lows in the 50’s next week. I highly doubt it, but will not complain one bit if that happens.

Edited to add that I just went and checked the 10 day forecast. Three days next week with lows in the mid fifties. Whoo hoo!

October 1 - 70.3 miles Hot sweaty work. Saw 85 degrees on a bank time/temp and it was raining lightly at the time as if it wasn't humid enough. I started late and got home 2 minutes before sunset. Mrs Good4u was unhappy and that is an understatement. Nine of the next ten days are forecast as true autumn weather.
October 70.3 miles
October Goal: 368.5 miles to get me to 2001 miles in 2019

I've done about 2,600 miles from April through September. I did 40 miles today. I usually hang it up by 2 weeks into October but I'm going to try and push it into November this year. I got a new bike and i'm really enjoying it. I was about 260 lb. on April 1 and I'm around 217lb.-220lb. now. Maybe I can hit 205 by the end of the month if I keep my riding up!

Looks like a fun ride! Is that an out and back route, or a one-way route? Just curious if it's a one-way route how you get there or back.

Be safe and enjoy the ride!

Thanks. One way ride. Believe it or not, Avis offers one-way rentals to Port Jervis, NY. I always splurge for an SUV so I don't have to take my bike apart. There are a couple of campgrounds near town where I can spend Wednesday night. I'll start riding Thursday. Relatively short day to a beautiful campground along the river. Saw a young bear cub when I stayed there last year during a tour home from Vermont.
