I tried helium infused water. However, every time I said "on your left" the folks in front of me just laughed?

It may make no sense to our uneducated-about-the-subject brains (unless of course someone here is a scientist and did such studies in his professional life), but if it's backed by empirical data, then I believe it.

Drinking hydrogen water enhances endurance and relieves psychometric fatigue: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study (cdnsciencepub.com)

We conducted this study with a limited number of participants. Before our results can be generalized, studies involving larger numbers of participants are essential.

Given the small size of H2 is about 1/3 that of N2 (80% of air), it might also be "very briefly" because it would leak out of your tube much faster. Latex would be even worse!
