How many miles do you have on your cycling shorts/bibs?
As the title state how many miles do you have on your? when do you replace them with another pair. I have a pair of Novara Cycling shorts that have at least 15,600 miles in about 2 years of cycling and the chamois are getting kinda flat from all the use, should i replace them or Htfu? its starting to get not as comfortable as when it was new.

I don't think the miles effect the shorts as much as the washing/drying.
I've never tracked it, but normally I have 2 pairs in a heavy rotation with a third pair that gets used when I was too lazy to do the wash.
I'd guess about 200 washings/dryings before they start to show much wear + tear.
These numbers are just a guess, because I don't track this metric.

After their shorts held up through 15k miles you aren't sure if REI has earned your repeat business?

I've had my first pair (Cannondales) for almost two years and probably at least 4,000 miles. They are now pretty threadbare and I will only wear them under winter tights from now on, but they're still comfortable.

There's a direct correlation to the length of wear to your average speed. Look it up.

Throw the stick!!!!
It is very easy to know when it it is time to get rid of a pair of shorts / bibs. The day that the rider behind you informs you that they are getting a bit thin it is time to either toss them or keep them for trainer duty. Nobody wants to ride behind a guy with see through shorts.

Mine get similar mileage, but I get three or so new pair every couple of years and relegate the older ones to the winter rotation (under tights).
My bibs have never, nor shall they ever, see the drum of a dryer. Air dry saves lives, and this is where owning a few pair has its advantages.
...and always hand wash or machine on delicate setting. Madge knows.

Possibily i could return them since they are in good shape but the jersey has alot of sun exposure and it is a bit faded. What do you guys/gals do with your old shorts/bibs? Throw them away? Donate them or give them to your dog? Lol
