I'm using nyud's coral cache to save bandwidth. I tested it and got pretty good speed, but I'll take it off it's a problem. What kind of speed are you getting?

Great vid recursive.. I think IS might have helped a bit but the roads seemed pretty brutal so it might not be your fault at all.. Oh and way check for the blind spot during the lane changes ... I am half motivated to buy a digicam with video capabilities and vid one of my rides ..

Thanks

Yeah, I forgot to turn on the the image stabilisation. Also the camera tends to point slightly down and to the right. Well, I'm fine tuning the system, and you can expect more videos from me, and they should get better as I work the kinks out.

322 KBps here. Cool video I don't know but helmet cam doesn't show you and the bike in relation to the environment. I still prefer the "on the bike" config.

Thanks. I debated the merits of person vs bike mounting. The roads I'm using are pretty rough, so I though I would serve as a better shock absorber, and the helmet cam allows you to see where I'm looking, although it can get a little disorienting. Maybe I'll give bike mounting a try too.

In other news, the hi-res version is now available. Let me just get the url...

Actually it worked fine on the 2nd try... I clicked it, it sat and buffered for a minute. Clicked stop and play again and it worked fine. Pretty neat video... and you actually see a few other commuters on your way home, I see. When I commute in the afternoon, it's TO work so if I see any, they're going the opposite direction.

Man, you're a lot safer than I am. I'd make a video of my commute but it's 40 min. Plus, no camera.

I edited it down from 22 minutes. Also, less safety means better TV. For example, I think the Lucas Brunelle videos have achieved perfection in that regard.

--- Well said. Thanks for the demonstration of traffic handling. My vote is for the POV helmet cam; the over-the-shoulder lane checks really create a sense of being there.

Nice video.
Was it the camera angle or were you riding kinda close to some of the parked cars in the first part of the video? I'd hate for you to get doored, but I'm sure that would add some great "entertainment" to the video.

Thanks.
Well, I think it was the angle. I believe I was at least the customary 3' from the cars, although I may have been in the "zone". The camera was angled slightly to the right though. I'd hate for me to get doored too, so I'll be sure to watch out.

I can't figure out why I can't open this link. I get an error message when I use "Save Target As" and I get the IE error page when I just click on it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

A positive aspect of the helmet cam over the setup you appear to have is that it does not show any guy’s arse in "relation to the environment either". I am sure that you must have a nice pair of gluteus, but I think most of the guys, but not all, would prefer not to watch them for a prolong period of time. But then again the ladies in this forum might totally disagree with me.

recursive, nice video. I have DSL at home and Satelite at work. No problems either place. It looks like fun taping a ride. I'll have to give it a try! Nice job!

Does it happen with both the high and low bandwidth versions? It's also possible that port 8090 is blocked where you are, in which case I will PM you another URL to use.

Took me a sec to realize that I was looking at my city! Your commute is way more bumpy and crowded than mine. I kinda lost you after you went under the beltline. Where is it that you ended up, those buildings with the big arches?
