Anything Wrong With You? (Physical Health)
Does anyone here have any serious medical conditions? (other than being addicted to cycling) How does it affect your participation in cycling?
I've only got one ventricle, 21 years, 4 surgeries later and I'm somewhat normal.
I'm starting to wonder about my future with this as my long term prognosis isn't really known by anyone. I plan to keep riding for a long while though, until I croak at least.
So, BF- what's wrong with you?

What's wrong with me? For starters, my age, which is about triple yours. Your probably in better shape than I am for cycling.
I've just taken a quick look at your condition, via here. Money quote in the Q&A section:
"Will my child be allowed to be active or play sports? In most cases, we tell parents to allow the child to do as much as he or she is able to do. Most children will self-limit (stop activity if it begins to stress the body). There are certain sports and activities to avoid. We will discuss this with you based on your child’s unique situation."
It seems as if, now that you're an adult, you haven't reached your limit.

4 of the 5 voices in my head tell me there's nothing wrong with me.
the other tells me I'm out of shape.

I have a broken right wrist bone (scaphoid bone, a/k/a navicular) from a fall 8 years ago. Two failed surgeries and it still is broken. Of course I am right handed.
It always hurts a little but luckily biking doesn't bother it much. No bowling or raquet sports though.

How serious? Nothing organ related, but a lot of bone issues due to several broken and injured joints from other sport type activities.

I have terrible stomach issues that have led me to give up meat and dairy.
My tree pollen allergies are at an epic level. What else.... lung issues due to said allergies and exercise induced asthma.
None of which cause me any great difficulty cycling or running wise.

I have an arthritis that affects the lower spine, sacro joints, hips, knees and ankles. Fortunately it's been more or less under control with drugs for several years but it still flares up from time to time. Turning a big gear for too long can get my hip in a tizzy for a couple days but other than that cycling doesn't seem to affect me negatively.

Bee sting allergy. It's not life threatening, unless I forget my Epi-Pen.

I had huge tumor removed from my spinal chord at the L4/5 level in 2003. In the fall of 2000 I was in an elevator that fell 3 stories. My ankle was messed up and still gives me issues if I pivot alot.

Arterial stent. Back in 2005. Hence why I rediscovered cycling as part of a 'healthier' lifestyle.
