Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Great photos! The DOF is amazing on some of the shots. What lens are you using?

Yeah that was pretty disappointing. I don't know, one would think they would have a backup plan if it rained...

my backup plan was changing the channel to watch the giro, which was also rainy but somehow they managed to televise it!

Fastish glass stopped down is what makes me swoon. Nifty 35*/50s at f/4 are where it's at. Who shoots wide open?

* I originally posted the chart for the Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G, but then I realized it disproves my point as its center sharpness is already "excellent" wide open and the border sharpness is close behind. The 1.8 D takes more coaxing, but is literally off the chart at f/4 in the center.
