Thanks. I bought one and have about 200 miles on it. Most comfortable saddle I have ever used.

Rode to Sagamore Hill to sit on TR's porch.

Learned that the morning after a hard rain, a lot of sand and debris gets washed onto the road from the soft shoulders. Mt. Misery was a mess with lots of sand and dead branches. Sweet Hollow also has plenty of sand and the damp surface and shade made it difficult to see potholes.
Black on Black (Bethpage Black)
This is what Long island is all about
Sagamore Hill before the tourists arrive.
My favorite spot at the Massapequa Preserve
It was clean when i left

Trek Emonda ALR 5...
I got my first proper road bike on Tuesday. A Trek Emonda ALR 5. So far I've only done around 50 miles total over 4 days. I was using a cheap Walmart fitness bike before so quite the upgrade. Goal is to do 20 miles a day before work and longer runs on the weekend. I can do around 15 miles in an hour so not too bad.already had SPD Pedals and shoes on the old bike.I 've upgraded the pedals.

My Kona Zone 2015 just got stolen last weekend, luckily my insurance covered most of it and since I just joined a club and gearing up to ride more and participate in more (amateur) races in 2017 I took the opportunity to upgrade by pre-ordering the Domane SL 6 2017-model.
REALLY looking forward to getting the bike delivered!
I read every post in this thread before deciding to go with Domane, hope I'm not going to regret it

This Spring I rode a Domane SLR and loved it. But since I have a Emonda SLR I wasn't in the market. What I liked is the more comfortable feel on rough roads. I eventually bought a Cyclocross bike since it was 2 steps away from the Emonda and the Domane was between them in ability to handle rough and less than optimal road conditions.
The Domane is a "safe" choice, I can't see how you will not love it.

I doubt you'll regret it, its a great bike. Just make sure an "endurance" bike is what you want.

I've read a lot of discussions about the difference between race geometry and endurance geometry and concluded that the Domane will fit my purpose just right.
My goal is to get more miles on the road next season and being comfy while doing it is a big plus. I have a long way to go on my physique, technique and experience before a more aggressive geometry will help me reach my goals.
Where I ride, western parts of Norway, it is quite a lot of hills and the roads vary greatly in quality.

Peloton Shelter Dog
I haven't owned a Trek since like 1994, but I have to wonder, why would anyone actually ADMIT to owning one?
I bought a Trek 2500 c. 1989, it was one of the first carbon fiber road bikes, and replaced it with a similar model a couple of years later before switching to Ti bikes which I rode until about 2005. That old Trek looked like this image I found on Google:
