Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Does anyone know of any significant differences between the '03 and '05 Allez Elite frames?

Thanks!

From the specs, they look almost identical. Geometry is very close. Both Columbus SLX Aluminium and a carbon fiber fork. With this year's Elite, you get the little rubber "Zertz" inserts in the fork blades (and seatpost with the built bike), which are supposed to dampen road shock.

I have the 05 Elite in Red, and I like it a lot. It's my first aluminium bike, after 20 years or so on steel, so I can't say whether or not the Zertz idea works, as I have no experience with AL frames to comapre to. No matter, nice bike, nice frame, with a nice finish, at a nice price.

Mine was a triple, and converted to a double.
