Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Not sure of a good place to post this so I'll just post it here.

As slvoid and I were finishing up a few laps in Prospect Park last night, I am pretty sure we may have smelled this:

https://1010wins.com/topstories/local...113.html#smell

Did anyone else get a whiff of that?

They make quite a few of the artificial flavorings over in Jersey. I wouldn't be suprised.

thats weird. I live in williamsburg and didn't smell anything but I was in the bathtub with my bike so I probably would have missed it anyway.

The best smell in the world is on 3rd Ave / 30th St in Brooklyn, right next to the federal prison. They make one of those "champagne cola" drinks there, and it ALWAYS smells like red gummy bears...

Oh, and has anyone else seen a really unusual number of dead pigeons today? I was barely on the streets at all, and I saw three... For those of you who smelled the good smell: I'm sure it was totally unrelated to whatever killed all the dead birds. So don't worry!

Today's Enquirer mentioned that the Sta-Puft Marshmallow Man got into the cabbage last night. I don't even want to think about what that would smell like.

If that doesn't sound like a euphemism for something nasty, I don't know what does

Wow freak me out. I live in NYC but went to Edison, NJ last night for a function and on the way back I swore I could smell maple syrup. I thought I was crazy but I guess I was right.
