Coat-tailing on the Bicentennial hoopla. Evidently they didn't grease the right palms; that's not the "official" Bicentennial logo.

Possible but wasn't really deciphering that.
I'm looking more at the assembly depicted in the brochure. Often many here call out cables, skewers, slammed seatpost, etc..
This made me chuckle as the Schwinn gurus are the worst nitpickn' goofs. Go to a bike show and stand near a Schwinn and surely someone will start up and pick it apart. Funny-
Here the almighty Schwinn, in all its glory, proclaims the greatest bike (seriously, read some of the old brochures) but wait now, these images have to be correct- right?!
Good day ;")

Not a Schwinn expert
Not a judge
Am C&V
Nitpicker = absolutely not.So i must ask, "What's the beef?"
edit: was typing when your post explaining appeared.
So my comment would be = Go to any bike show and a couple of people could be found to critique every bike on display. That's just people.

Now that you mention it, nice bike, but half a dozen things come to mind right away to make it look better. Maybe part of that is ad presentation has gotten a lot slicker in the past several decades.

I can laugh, because I've seen a different side in person.
On the subject bike, I approve of the length of the brake cables and the front hub skewer placement on the drive-side. I would route both cables over the bars, though.
For the photo, I disapprove of the crank and chain orientation.
Don't really care about the mix of componentry. Campy Rally rear mechs are expensive...

At least it isn't accompanied by models who've never turned a pedal.
I am digging the wheel reflectors and cable routing.

Name one time you've seen me in judicial robes.
I ride rubbish (cosmetically) compared to many of you guys & gals. Only 1 of a dozen C&V bikes ever repainted.
New paint ruins the bike.
New decals ruin the bike.
If it came with tubulars, what's with the clinchers?
Brifters on an '80s?
Replacement fork!?!
What's with Tribute bikes?
24tooth chainring on a roadie - get some legs
36 tooth pieplate cogset on a roadie - same
No wool?

How in the hell is anyone missing the bottom middle picture?! Holy jeebus, if a BF'er had posted their bike with that mishap, they would've been chided and berated until 2021!

Wait, we DO go to the same bike shows.
My "introduction" was at B.A.M.F. Dale Brown actually put all the Paramounts in the same corner of the banquet room. If you actually stopped walking through that section, some Paramoundrian would start pointing out all the flaws on all the Paramounts except his own. I think Dale put a big magnet there, so they all gathered in the corner and couldn't escape and bother the rest of the people. But, if some hapless soul ventured in there...OMG. Once I got out of there, I just wanted a shower..

I remember a swap meet where two guys were arguing over period correct grips...
Schwinn's are fine, Schwinn ultrafans, not so much.

Is it my bad, old eyes, or is this a reverse image. The bike in the main pic has its QR lever on the correct/left side. I wondered about the RD and the lower picture sayings a Shimano derailleur, looks like a Rally to my non-judge eyes. Maybe a Schwinn judge will happen by and set me straight, here shortly.

I think the main issue with ad pics are the two which show the odd routing of the brake cables. One passes in front, the other behind - that's just sloppy bike-building.
