Well this is a first...

I broke my helmet this week, and I don't even have an accident story to tell (which is good). Bike fell over when the subway jolted, helmet was dangling from the handlebars, and the skinny little plastic gizmo that holds the adjustment mechanism on the (Specialized S-works) helmet snapped in three places. This seems like something of a design flaw in the Specialized -- nothing should break that easily, should it? Bike isn't even scratched (which is also good).

It was, of course, an almost new helmet, and it wasn't cheap. But it does mean I'm in the market for a new one. I want something lightweight, with lots of holes, and of course it will all come down to the fit. But anyone got any recommendations?

Alien attack maybe? Could they have a weapon that makes our every day possessions break in unexpected places? Maybe the Chinese are doing something like that so we'll all have to buy new ones.

I discovered a broken spoke this week that doesn't make any sense at all to me. Broke right in the middle and I can find no sign of any other damage. Weird.

Just call customer service and explain to them and I'm sure they will get you fixed up. Won't know if you don't try.
