Vintage Trek Elance?
I found this bike on my local Craigslist.
The seller doesn't seem to know much about it. Nor do I. Just that Trek is a good name?
Tires are flat. They're selling it with a mount to ride it indoors as well. And including the handpump for the tires.
Asking $300. Is this a good deal? What other information can anyone tell me about this bike?
Here's the mount (listing says it's a Blackburn APX):

Are you wanting the trainer? If not, make offer for the bike alone. Personally, while the Trek Elance is a decent bike, I can't see that one going for more than around $150.00 depending upon your location. The seat is junk but most people put their own on anyway so I don't really figure that in.

$300 is the absolute top end and probably a bit high. The trainer doesn't add much value unless you were specifically wanting one.

I paid $125 when I bought my Elance in ready to ride condition. Nice bike, but if it needs work $300 is super high.

I paid $120 for this 86 400 Elance and it was ready to ride
Then I turned it into a trainer because I already have a 88 400t, and I found it to be my most comfortable bike

Agree with above comments. I've been waiting for a blue Trek Elance like I had in college - would be willing to go $300 if it were completely pristine.

All the above comments seem to be spot on. The Elance wasn't a particularly high end bike, just in the middle of the product line. Good but not great. And many sold. That said, the value would be in the $50 to $300 range depending on condition. At $300 it better be superbe. And as others have said, the trainer has no value to this sale unless you're looking for one.
