1977 Raleigh Professional Mk V (I think)!

Snagged another "grail" bike for me...a '77 Raleigh Professional Mk V...finshed in the classic Mink Blue/Gray...had to sell a couple of things in the fleet to finance it...but I think it was worth it....!

The bars and stem have been switched out by the previous owner...I have the orginial, as well as the orginial rear cluster. It's in dire need of a Brooks Professional saddle...but I took it for a ride today, and I am in heaven...smooth, quick and responsive...(and I think it's lighter than my 2011 Trek 1.5.)

A few pics from the seller, my camera is down right now....

Nice. I like the colors and yes a Brooks will set it off.

I bid on that. And if I'd have been braver and/or had the scratch, would've beat you out. You got a great deal on that bike, my friend. Funny, I wrote the seller to ask if he still had the original pedals as well, and he responded, four days after the auction closed, that those were the originals. Heh. Great score JohnnyBgoode! Congrats. Grail indeed.

you can see the remnants of the carlton "raced proved" triangle sticker just above the bottom bracket - replicas are available on ebay.

Thanks...I think the fact that the seller had the auction listed as p/u only kept the price down a little...it's in really good shape...not perfect...but, very solid. The saddle on it now will be sold to help buy a proper Brooks...the bike will not be a garage queen...
