Trust Pearl Izumi sizing for wind vest?

I'm having trouble finding a wind vest in my size. I came across a Perl Izumi one which is listed as "form fit" and their sizing guide seems to indicate I'd just need an XL for my 47" chest. They go up to XXXL.

Considering a XXL in a Louis Garneau vest was too tight, should I not trust what I'm seeing for Perl Izumi? I'd have to mail order it and I'd rather not deal with returns/exchanges.

Thanks
Paul

I always have thought that PI is pretty true to size. Remember formfitting is snug, like a road bike jersey. I have a 46" chest and a XL jacket, it is on the snug side. I have a barrier jacket (I think it is a loose fit since it isn't stretchy) that is XXL and I can grab a fistful of jacket at the middle of my chest when it is on. I depends on the type of fit that you are looking for.

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like the XXL is more my style.

I have several PI items. I have always went by their size guides and everything I have fits but is snug.

52 inch chest. I usually wear 2XL in Performance brand jerseys, 2XL in t shirts.

But my 2XL windbreaker is really tight. Sometimes I'd rather just not wear it and tough the cold.

Run small imo.

I have one of their jackets with the zip off sleeves, and three of their jerseys. The size was spot on for me.

But have you looked at www.aerotechdesigns.com? I am a huge fan of theirs. I'm in the process of replacing all my riding clothes with their stuff. They are made great and they fit well. Price is good too.

I have a Pearl Izumi vest in XL.
I m 6 feet tall with chest 42. The vest is too large for me in XL, Large would be more appropriate for my size.

I did but I was only seeing fluorescent yellow jerseys. I liked the PI color scheme better.

Yeah. They don't have a lot of colors to choose from in vests.

I will add that my chest is a 54. I just measured it. I wear a 2XL in Pearl Izumi.

I don't have a wind vest but I feel PI has very good sizing. My bibs are true to size and I have 1 jersey that is also true to their advertised size. I like their bibs!

Ya'll really had me second guessing my purchase that the XXL would be too big. It arrived today and it looked big when I took it out of the bag. I even joked with my wife that that means there's room to grow.

Well, she got a good chuckle when I put it on.

It isn't skin tight but it also isn't going to billow like a sail, but for what I want, I think it's perfect.

I wear an XL T-shirt and XXL in PI is usually good for me. Depends on the cut obviously. I have one XXL shirt which I can't wear because it's too tight, and one that flaps in the wind. Mostly I would say that PI is on the bigger size for XXLs though, compared to some shirts, where XXL is ridiculously small.
