Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Finally, he says to me, "You're going to be sick of this couch long before it breaks down."

Around 2010, my wife couldn't stand the fabric color anymore and decided to get rid of it. A lady that she knew said her son needed a couch for his frat house at ISU in Normal, IL. I told the kid when he picked it up that I didn't want to see it on the roof of a porch or out in the yard at the frat house. He told me that I better not drive to Normal then.

My wife worked for a beach house furniture store when we lived in Morehead City. All of our family room furniture comes from there. It was expensive and I couldn’t tell ya why.
Our bedroom furniture came from Ikea....We have moved 5 times since we bought it. Ikea isn’t made to be moved 5 times.

Where's the back support on most of these things? I'd rather sit in a car seat.

Normal, IL: manufacturing site of the Eclipse/ Talon/ Laser trio.

That's all I knew about it until this post.

The town gets it's name from Illinois State University which was originally a "normal" college.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normal_school

The university is still a teaching college, my wife graduated from there but my son graduated from there in legal studies.

My son had a 1995 Eagle Talon also known as that P.O.S. Of course, Mitsubishi closed the plant some years ago and it's now owned by Rivian. It's also where they stored thousands of VWs when they had to buy them back. They've only recently been removed.

Did they send them to that place where the t-shirts of the losing Super Bowl team also go?

In other news, if anyone's watching Labor of Love, one of my former teammates is Kyle Klinger from the show. AG and I are about to watch the first episode with dinner because of that; it's the only reason we'd watch one of these.

I wonder where they went, too. They were there a very, very long time.

Also, since lockdown started I've blown through all season of American Horror Story (other than 7/ Cult) on the trainer. That was fast. Need more gristle for the mill.

I’ve binged a lot of stuff like Homeland, The Wire, Billions, Killing Eve, etc. I’m now binging Kim’s Convenience.

I watched AHS from the beginning while it was current but the last couple seasons totally sucked IMNSHO.

Little Georgia-Mae's breeder contacted us when she heard Indy was going through end of life times. She said she was expecting a litter, and would save the pick for us. She likes how we treat her kids, and are always in contact, etc. No pressure, nothing like that. She just put that offer out there for us. I let her know that if there was a black female in there, we probably would be interested. We were informed that "Blondie" had not had a black female in her line, that she knew of, but there were some there in past generations. Expectations were low, but alas... A black male and female out of the five. Crazy. Meant to be. Don't know. Every one we get is unique, and no single one replaces any other single one, they just get added to the space, and add to the joy they've all brought. I will say, losing my shadow was very hard, and you all get it. She was just always around, wherever I went, yet never on me. That part is tough.

Either way. End of June it is.

What Mrs. LAJ thinks she's named after.....

But, I like this one better.

Like many people, I have a black hole in my shop floor that swallows screws, small parts, etc. and occasionally even tools. The latest is a chain breaker. It seems to be a wanderer because I’ve had to send out a search party for it before. It’s now AWOL, again, so I ordered a new one. I fully expect to find the old one next week grinning at me from under a box or behind something.

My wife bought one of those couches with no back cushions. Who buys a couch with no back cushions? According to my wife, that’s in style. So, we have a couch with six throw pillows on it instead of back cushions. I refuse to sit on it.

can you check that black hole for my automotive torque wrench? I’m hesitant of buying a new one just for the same reason
