My Electric Cargo Bike

I bought a Cetma Largo Bakfiets Cargo bike from Lane a few years ago when I was living in California with the intention of eventually electrifying it. I just recently got around the buying a mid drive kit from Dillenger for it. I opted the for the BBS02 with the highest amp battery they had (which might not be available now it seems)

The popular high power Bafang BBS02 range of mid drive electric bike kits - Your choice of battery | Dillenger

I threw the kit on minus the levers or speedo cable. As you can see I also never finished building the box for the cetma .

But anyway, i'm enjoying it so far. It seems I can go about 28mph on the flats although I can't currently get into my smallest cog. I'm going to switch to a Rholhoff internal gear hub anyway.

No word on battery life yet, I've only ridden it around the 'hood.

the battery fits nicely behind though box but needs to be attached better (though it doesnt move).

The wires and thrown on there and need to be cleaned up.

As i get time ill be addressing these things.

Looks great!! 28mph is pretty decent!

RE the battery options, just a minor technical glitch, fixing that now.

Hey holiday, mind sharing your decision making process for choosing that electric system? As a fellow Cetma owner, I've been considering my options for electrifying, and I'd love to see how you ended up at your final choice. Also, any mounting considerations for the Bafang? How are the hills?

stoke monkey motor kits hill climb better. drive via the left side with a crossover crank,

so you still have the triple crank granny gear ratio.

they would have fit.

+1

Considering a BBS02 for my hardtail 29 mountain bike to see if one of the factory builds will be worth my investment. Putting out $800-$1000 for a complete kit seems like a better way to go than investing ~$4000 on the 2016 model I have my eye on.

My thought is if I really enjoy the E-assist and move forward with a major purchase, I will have the BBS02 for others to go for a ride on with me or just try out before they jump in with the big bucks as well.

Holiday...at 28 mph maybe it is a good thing you didn't finish the box....you can still make the front end aerodynamic Still sunny in san jose

Question on CETMA conversion

I saw your conversion (and saw that you sold the CETMA a while ago) and was wondering if you were happy with the result? I have a CETMA and was thinking about a mid-drive conversion. I like the Bafang better than the stoke monkey, but thought you might have some good insights.

thanks!!
