General and bike safety

Hi guys,
So, I work for a small London based startup called Impli specializing in implantable technologies and I wanted to hear your opinions on our implant.

It is basically a storage of public and private medical records. The goal is to help you have your medical records on you 24/7, everywhere in the world. I come to this forum to try and get some feedback from your community as one of our customers is a cyclist.

I am looking for feedback from the cyclist community over on implant.

If you are curious, please feel free to listen to Archie's story its in our instagram impliworld

Would you get an Implant? Do you think it is useful for the cyclist community?

Thank you for taking the time,
Lucas

Unless you can convince all first responders to actually look for something like that while also carrying the tools to do so and their bosses to pay for it, it's a nonstarter. In addition, I'm not sure I want to be microchipped.

No thanks. I personally don't think my entire medical history is necessary in order to immediately save my life or treat immediate injuries. They can get all that information later if they need it. I already carry a card in my bike wallet with my name, blood type, allergies, and emergency contact information, as well as that same information all printed out on a sticker on my helmet in case they don't find the card in my wallet. I don't think it's necessary for them to know at the scene of the accident or in the ER that I was vaccinated against measles when I was 4 years old.

Then of course there's always going to be the conspiracy paranoia and mistrust of government which will make people wonder if they are being tracked by that microchip. Much of that paranoia and mistrust not being unfounded.

Woof

I asked my dog how he feels about his microchip. He said he’s OK with it but Leroy’s dog hates his.

The general tone was bad so I didn’t bring up the castration issue.

There is only one type of implant I would consider useful.
And this ain’t it.

you understand that most of the people here are ‘Murricans, right? It’s bad enough that Bill Gates is trying to slip Mind-control microchips into our vaccines.....

losing the nuts would likely enable you to adopt a more aggressive aero position and lose a couple of ounces of weight....🤔

You might get different reactions in the US, than what you expect. An issue in the US is that your medical information can be used against you, when you try to get health insurance or even a job. Losing either can put you out on the street in a hurry. So people tend to be quite skittish about expanding access to their health info.

There are laws preventing medical info from getting leaked out of the medical system, if you trust them, but I don't reveal any medical info to my employer (for instance). People are also divided about 50/50 on whether or not to get a DNA test or any kind of psychological evaluation. I've avoided both so far.
