December 2020 100+ Miles/km Thread

November is all but over...time to think about December. If you'd like to share, let us know your goals. I need about 700 miles to hit 10,000 for the year, so that's my goal. What about everyone else?

November wasn't what I was hoping it would be but this is the best year I've ever had and I got 11 rides in this month so for December the goal is to get a 65 mile birthday ride in (December 5) sometime during December, it will be the longest ride that I have ever attempted and then go from there, maybe try for 1800 miles for the year

I had a great November hitting a thousand miles for the first time in a very long time. Keeping my goal at 600 miles with hope that weather continues to cooperate.

I'm sitting at approx. 8,200 miles for the year - I never intended to be cycling this much - certainly COVID and social distancing has helped tremendously, as has the purchase of two new endurance bikes, and of course, the blessing of continued health (most important of all).

Not sure I need to put the pressure of 800 miles for December on myself as at least half of it will be in VA, and it's true winter up in the mountains. So.......I'll put in for 600 miles which I think is ambitious enough while being realistic. This time, I'm going to front load as much as I can (yeah, right) because I'm always behind the eight ball.

BTW, on Dec 27th I turn 63 and will strive to ride my age, weather cooperating. I'm starting to realize it gets harder when you hit your 60s, LOL!

Congrats on a big November! Really encouraging for all of us to see a bounceback like this....

Perhaps we should consider incentivizing every month's top mileage finisher by giving the next month off, LOL!

I’m gonna have to go back and see how many miles I’ve ridden this year, likely more than last year by a fair margin. Going to keep the goal attainable this month and try to surpass it:

Monthly goal: 400 miles.

Edit: I should be trying to get to sleep, but I just had to figure out how many miles I have in this year. And there may be more, but all I have proof of is 3,076.7 miles, plus whatever I can do in December.

Goal is 600 miles, my goal at the beginning of the year was 7000 miles, I passed that earlier. I will pass 11,000 miles this month, I am at 10,750 right now.

That's a lot of miles. Not sure I ever hit 1,000 in a month; congrats.

December Goal 600 Miles

12/01/20 20.30 Miles

Extremely windy in south Texas today, wind gusts of up to 20 mph, was lucky to get those 20 in!

I’m at 1587.8 for the year . That’s over my goal . That’s also the most miles I ever ridden in a year .
I’d like to do 1700 for the year , but if I can get in 100 for the month , I’ll be happy.
I need a mid 50’s or better or I’ll just take walks . Can’t handle the cold .

MTD: 60 mi.

Was too cold and windy to ride first two days in Dec. Warmer weather is back, took advantage of it. Di2 does not appear to be holding its charge, will need a visit when up in VA.

MTD: 52.0 mi.

No matter what I do, it's 12.99 miles from home to the bike rack at work. So this morning I did an extra lap around the little parking lot to push it over 13 and make the addition a little easier. Hope I can do it again tomorrow.

North wind was blowing like a cyclone today so didn't even attempt to go out. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

I'll put my December goal of 40 hours of 'stuff' (Bike, Run (dreadmill), Gym). The monthly forecast is for 2 days of the month to be in the low 50's; the rest in the 40's. That's not conducive to me riding outside and if I'm riding inside I go zero distance according to my Garmin GPS.
