Bunny hopping with clipless

Hey, I recently started mountain biking and was trying to learn to bunny hop. I have pretty much always used clipless and I found that whenever I tried to do it the right way, I ended up "cheating" with the clipless pedals. Does anyone have advice for how to learn this. (P.S. I've tried doing it unclipped, but it just never really works out.

I'm still not much good at it without being clipped in. Search for it with "BMX". It's one of the first tricks to learn. I can't think of how to explain it via text.
