After Your Ride
What did you do after coasting to your home after the ride?
I just did a mediocre ride, but decided to nuke some leftovers, mix a john collins, went to the porch with my laptop, and checked to see what was new on BikeForums.

Shower and food follows nearly every ride. And a bit of shut eye of the ride was taxing enough, and time allows.

2-3 beers, food, 2-3 bottles of water/Nuun, and rest.
If the ride was than 45 miles, I'd just hydrate and go about my day.

Coasting home ....
The only way home is to climb a good 14% grade. There ain't no coasting.
But after we slogged up the hill to home on our most recent ride ... we went grocery shopping.

Followed a 64 mile ride yesterday with a 30 mile ride with my son's friend (24) today. then decided since i was already sweaty I would do some lawn work and trim the shrubs. 3 hours later I finally was finished, ate some food and took a long hot shower.
My body is punishing me at the moment.

It's been many years since I've heard of "John Collins." (the soda)
Last time I saw the soda, it was the "Collin's Mix" of "Canada Dry."

My use of the pronoun was referring to a whiskey cocktail. Collin's mix is actually just a cheap way to make the drink, just add whiskey and soda.

I mix up a First Endurance recovery drink, drink it, and lay down for about an hour or two.

60 miles 5,000' today. Strava and beer then shower. If the wife and kids are out all day, I would consider Strava, two beers, shower, and nap.

I mix 1.5 scoops of gold standard with 12oz whole milk and sip it while I stretch, then lounge on the couch for an hour or so.

The really good news is that I have a similar climb to get OUT of my house! (one way street)

After today's ride, I was forced to do some emergency grocery shopping! Perfect for my sore legs.

I ride early so I have the rest of the day to take care of things. During the week it's work. Weekends, housework and chores. Today for instance, after 50 miles I did 6 hours of plumbing to reroute the kitchen pipes. Still not done.
