Search for a phrase in BF?
Is it possible to search Bike Forums for a phrase rather than individual words? Usually Advanced Search allows you to, or putting the phrase in quotes searches for what's between them. Ironically, the Search in the FAQ section allows you to "Match All Words", "Match Any Words" or "Match COmplete Phrase" but not the Search or Advanced Search in the regular forum. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance.

What are you searching for? I think the BikeForums search may be "Match Any Word" when "Match All Words" is often more useful.
Also, if the results come back with a very long thread, then it can be useful to search the thread in a second search to pick out your phrase.
I'll also use Google to execute searches:
I like photos, and use the Google Photos as part of my searches, but unfortunately BikeForums changed their photo format a few years ago, so the old photos don't show up in the Google searches, but the new ones do.

I'll also use Google to execute searches:
Pumice Desert site:Bikeforums.net
Pumice Desert CliffordK site:Bikeforums.net (I like to search for my own posts)
Pumice Desert CliffordK site:https://www.bikeforums.net/touring (if you are careful, you can specify the subforum to search with Google).
"Pumice Desert" site:Bikeforums.net
"Desert Pumice" site:Bikeforums.net Google allows quotes, and seems to be order specific for the words.
Google is supposed to also use Boolean logic (xyz AND abc) (xyz OR abc) (xyz, abc), although I'm not sure how rigorous it is with the rules. It seems to allow some flexibility.

Thanks, I learned something! The Google search seemed to do the trick. I didn't know you could specify what Web site to search in Google. Very helpful! Still have trouble with the BF search though.
