Here's my ride. I commute about 2 days/wk. 32 mile RT...most of it on the Henry Hudson Greenway. Very comfortable, but heavy. I added the Axiom rack, Forte Campus pedals and Profile bar ends. Planning to ride this on the 5 boro tour this weekend. I'm pretty jacked up about it.

Schwinn Traveler w/ Nexus 8sp.
This bicycle is meant to replace my old 68cm Bridgestone 400 that broke on the seat mast tube and also on the rear triangle. Luckily this bicycle is just as tall. I have a 44tooth chainring because I was thinking of installing a Hebie Chainglider. This bicycle will replace my Giant Cypress as my winter bicycle and I will be a two bicycle person.

Surly LHT, 54 cm, in Sage green.

Built with:
  • Shimano old-school XTR drivetrain
  • Rivendell friction down-tube shifters
  • Nitto lugged & filet-brazed threadless stem with mustache bar
  • Paul brakes (yes, picture has Onzo HO brakes but one of the arms had since cracked )
  • Vintage White Industries hubs with OCR rear rim
  • Dinotte front and rear lights
  • Planet Bike Cascadia fenders
  • Continental 26x1.6 tires with anti-puncture belt and sealant in tubes (I don't carry extra tube/pump)
Yes, it's really clean for a daily commuter because the picture was taken immediately after a rare wash.

I pretty much had to do the same thing. I started having issues with my neck and back from my messenger bag but now that I've added a rack and panniers to my fixie/ss it's gone. Doesn't look too bad either. I think I'll get an old mt bike and rack it up as a truck and try to keep my fixie stripped for light days. Love the look of the bike.

Cheers!

I am loving the very tall red Traveler with the very tall stem for the very tall man. Hats off to you for not only finding a very tall bike but then building it with style.

and my sun bike:

I live in the Pacific Northwest, hence the fenders and the rain jacket strapped to the rack on the sun bike.

Actually, it's a Brown Ale. Downtown Brown, brewed by Lost Coast Brewery in Eureka, California. One of my all time favorite Browns.

What handlebars are those? Are they the Soma Dove bars by any chance?
I'm looking to replace my mtb riser bars with some northroad style bars.

Yes and it's made from a mousepad stapled in two! However if it's windy it tends to go way back towards the frame and i don't know how effective it is then. Otherwise it works pretty good
