Getting from Sedona to Vegas?

(cross-posting from Foo)
Hi, all
I've got to be in Sedona, AZ next Wednesday, October 12 -- and then I have a flight leaving Las Vegas at 8:00 a.m. the next morning, October 13. I'll be catching a ride with a group of people from Las Vegas to Sedona, but have to get back to Vegas on my own. I've reserved a car in Sedona to drop off at the airport in Vegas, but it's around 160 bucks for a one-way trip.

So -- are there any clever local tips for getting from Sedona to Las Vegas for less than $160? I've checked flights from Flagstaff, but the timing is all wrong. Greyhound schedules aren't great either.

Thanks in advance!

(No, I'm not just going to Sedona for a day -- we'll be up there for a few days, but I need to be there on the 12th)

To keep this bike-related, maybe someone could suggest a nice bike route

Flights from Phoenix to Vegas are dirt-cheap. There should be plenty of airport shuttles from Sedona to Phoenix. I'm sure you can do that for less than $160.

Southwest Airlines is the main flight to Vegas from Phoenix and they will kill you on rates in this time frame. Plus its just a bit longer to drive to Vegas from Sedona. That is the old rock and a hard place to find a cheap, easy route between the two destinations. Maybe check the Sedona Chamber of Commerce about shuttles?

Hmm, thanks. It seems like I can pick either cheap or easy, but not both. A two-hourish drive to Phoenix plus check in and security at the airport -- and then getting to Vegas in time for an 8 a.m. departure -- sounds unpleasant, and I'm at the mercy of both shuttle and Phoenix-Las Vegas flight schedules.

Given the need to be in Sedona on the 12th and Vegas early on the 13th, I might just stick with the car. Thanks, both.

Edit: Just saw the Sedona Chamber suggestions -- thanks! I'll look into that.
