Does anybody make a super high end coaster brake rear hub? Just a single speed unit.

Have you seen this?

https://kogswell.com/siteVELOSTEEL.php

I've got a hangerless Raleigh Competition that I'm tempted to put one of those hubs on. You could have the clean brakeless fixie look while maintaining the ability to coast and stop.

Super high-end coaster brake seems like an oxymoron.

It's good--good modulation but easy to lock up if needed. Good for skids!

Now that I've talked myself into buying one, I can't find one to buy. It doesn't appear that Kogswell is selling them anymore. Somebody on the SS/FG forum imported a case, but they sold out in a few days. I was looking at the Velosteel company a website. The hub is available in a cog/lockring version.

I don't think I'll be doing any skids since I plan to run tubulars.

I think I did my last intentional skid in the 1950's.

I somehow managed to acquire a few NOS Shimano single-speed coaster brake hubs (36 hole) awhile back. I have no idea how they perform, but PM me if you want to be an official tester.

Thanks, but I'm only interested in the Velosteel hub. I'd be glad to test that one for you!
