1988 Schwinn Premis, killer find and barely used (new pictures)

I have been searching for one of these one year made Schwinn Premis on CL for a long time now. Finally found one that has been kept in the garage since it was bought. Chainring has no wear marks on it at all.
Love this whole suntour cyclone 7000 group set. Serial number G838992
now it need a good detail job
Any more information on the bike would be great like pro and con?
Thank you

I passed after seeing the photo. Advertised as a 23" size with no photo. When he sent the photo, it was clearly a mini-bike.

Enjoy!

Not too sure about the head set in matching white.

Pros: Nice bike. Columbus Tenax main triangle. Nice touches like dropouts w/ adjusters, chain hanger, and pump peg. SunTour Cyclone. Pretty light -- catalog weight is 22 lbs.

Cons: You've got to be awfully short to ride it -- that's a 19" frame. SunTour Accushift indexing earned a subpar reputation.

Wow I think that's even smaller than my 21", there's no real cons to them other then being slightly heavy. Tenax rides nice, the original group when tuned does great.

I bought and sold one of these. It rode a lot better than I expected.

I love it! The white components actually look good other than the headset. Iv been looking for a 19" Premis too, but the other multi colored one (though i wouldnt be picky if it came down to it lol). Glad you finally found what you were looking for!

Accushift works fine on the one bike I have it on, but only with the Accushift/ AP freewheel that came on the bike. IRD and Sachs freewheels would often ride between sprockets.

I like that headset. White makes things look larger, so it does look a bit funny on that small frame.

I'm 5'6 and it feel fine, stand over height is just right on the money.

I saw that pop up and was tempted , but every bike hook in the garage is taken - no room ! Nice snag, I see the multi colored ones from time to time , but not the silver ones very often . Nice looking bike !

I have a Premis with the same color scheme. It is my only road bike (of two bikes), so I don't have much to compare it to, but I really love it. I haven't had any trouble with the Suntour Accushift indexed shifting and I am using the original cables/housing. Looks like the rear rim is different (or just really dirty) mine has Maillard hubs laced to Weinmann rims.

I saw this like an hour after it was posted and texted Oddjobs2. For 125 it seemed like a decent price but don't need another bike right now.
