I came across another 1996 Koga-Miyata SilverAce on Marktplaats in the exact same size and colour as mine.

Though upon closer inspection, there is something wrong with the rear triangle...

Seller describes it as "only needs new tyres and is perfect as a train station bike".

Someone should tell Koga Miyata that the chain stays, and not the seat stays, are supposed to be curly.

A few things caught my eye... These vintage "light weights", the tubing sticker on the "Green" and of course, the optimistic pricing.

It's a known way to break these older ring locks if you are drunk and don't care about breaking some things on the bike. Just run with your rear wheel lifted and just drop the bike.
Still, it shouldn't be this easy to bend it like this.

I contacted the seller and he told me he never noticed and would be okay with a €10 bid if somebody that bid €30 didn't want it.
It would make for a good parts bike for me and a way to take a look inside the tubing to look at the butting.

Excellent photography, this shot belongs in a coffee table book. Bike belongs in a land fill, sadly. And what's with the heart-shaped pedals? May as well train girls early to do this sort of thing??? And what's with the child carrier? Babies having babies?

Seller claims this is a 2017 and made of carbon fiber. It is a 2009 and made of aluminum. It's on page 71 of the Cannondale 2009 catalog. When I presented this information to them in a polite manner, they told me to "F__k off". What's wrong with people? There is even a bike fork in the photo background indicating they have bike knowledge. Please help flag this ad to protect buyers. Thank you.

"Mind if I do a nickel test?"

*ping! *ping!

"I love the bright ring of a sound carbon frame, don't you?"

Edit to add: looking at the bike setup, I wouldn't necessarily conclude that the seller knows anything about bikes, except maybe that they're held together with threaded fasteners.

Sadly, Cannondale hasn't used this sticker since 2010.

Speaking of stickers, I'll bet that warning sticker at the lower end of the downtube is the warning about checking the _aluminum_ frame welds before every ride.

I've got no business owning a funny bike like that.

But man oh man do I want one.
