I wasn’t expecting this one to last long. If I were taller, and it was closer, and I had room for just ONE more... but, I hope one of you BF members scooped it up!

I thought so. One cross is considered pretty much the same as radial and pro's don't build 1X wheels. I did try this though in about 1980. I figured why not? Radial had a reputation for the nipples loosening, or so I heard, and when I laced up the wheels radially, I didn't like the way they looked. So, I relaced it 1X. Same spokes. They worked fine. I thought they looked better.

These aren't mine. I built it on Advocet hubs with Arc-en-ciel rims.

But, you will not find any information in Sutherlands about 1X. They talk about 2X and then skip 1X and go to radial, if I remember correctly.

Mercier 300 Ultra Road Reynolds 531 60cm - $350 (Harwich/Cape Cod)

Mid 1970s Mercier 300 Ultra road bike. French built Reynolds 531 Double butted Chromoly frame measures 24” from center of crank to top of seat tube with a 34” stand over height. Original except for Ideale 80 leather saddle, seat post,Campaganolo Nuevo record derailleurs and shifters. Cinelli handlebars and stem, and Shimano 600 brakes and levers. Expected pitting in chrome but no dents or dings and paint and decals are pretty nice. First $350 picked up in Harwich takes it.I answer responses that include a phone number.

It is hard to tell for sure, but it might be a Tange Infinity frame, the components, especially the calipers, make me think of Shipmano Z series. Still a nice ChroMoframe with all aluminum components for $20 isn't a bad deal

If shipping to me wasn't so expensive and if someone would facilitate that bike, I'd grab it in a heartbeat.

Cheers

When stove pipe bikes near me are going for $75-80, $20 is a steal.

Beautiful Carbon road bike. Triple rings up front; ten in the back - 30-speeds. Mostly Shimano 105 components. Very light - less than 20 pounds. In very good shape. Not totally sure of the size. I think it is a 50 or 52cm. My son was using it until he was about 5' 7". It it too small for him now. Let me know if you have questions or would like to take it for a ride.

Could anyone help facilitate? Im in Los Angeles, CA. This would be a perfect project for my girlfriend as summer approaches. Please pm me or let me know!

Raleigh Aleyska 57cm 21sp, $130 @ Louisville KY area, CraigsList.

A bit altered, but might suit someone.

=========

This mid 1980's bike has drop handlebars and down tube shifters like a road bike. The brakes are cantilever like a mountain bike instead of caliper like a road bike. 21 speeds. Raleigh 555 t lightweight tubing, alloy parts. The nice tires are beefier 28 inches instead of road bike 27 inch or 700c. The front wheel is quick release,. The saddle is a comfort Schwinn. The handlebar tape has been replaced.

Ready to ride. The front brakes have been replaced with newer hardware. The rear brakes are original. There has been some paint touch up.

Size 54. 500 mi on chain, new rear wheel last Dec. Shifters and cranks are ultegra, brakes are 105. Comes with bottle cage, saddle bag, pedals; bike computer and lights are not included.

Never thought I'd wish I had shorter legs as often as I have recently during the great Covid bike drought...
A bike like this might sit there in the DC metro, let alone Baltimore. It's not vintage enough.

My neighbor had a 700 that was similar and was stolen out of his vehicle. Weird as I have never had anybody try to steal a bike. He's on the other side of the continent now on Whidbey Island.

I have had marginal success with Cannondale Road Bikes on CL. It's a weird market Just so much here.

Nice bike. StarBiker, Had my locked Schwinn stolen outside my work 2 years ago. Wasn't an expensive or vintage bike but the feeling of having something stolen right under you is rotten then my basement flooded that weekend and we lost more stuff. 2018 was not a good year for us.

Peculiar wording in that ad for sure. Maybe the seller is trying to tell us that the cranks are original!
Nice bike though at a reasonable price.

We had a Cannondale come up this morning...looked like a M400, probably 1989 or so. Upsized and repainted...$95. And an F400 in perfect shape for $150

Both gone within 20 minutes; they was sold and removed.
